My name is Camilla but my 'stage' name is Qamile Sterna and I'm passionate about photography and visual arts. I'm curious of all the job roles that orbit the creation of photographic images, because the photography, as well as being an impression of light on film, now is a gigantic human organization that involves media, information industry, world of fashion and art market. All interconnecting worlds. Many times I wondered what attracted me so much of still images, so that taking them, buying them, studying them, talking and writing about them.

My response was that the photographs of an author set a unique and purely authentic moment in human history but at the same time they are a subjective expression of the photographer, who tells, from his point of view, a bit of reality through them.

Il mio nome d'arte è Qamile Sterna e mi interesso di fotografia e di arti visive. Sono curiosa di tutti i ruoli lavorativi che orbitano intorno alla realizzazione di immagini fotografiche, perchè la fotografia, oltre ad essere un'impressione di luce su pellicola, oggi è ormai una gigantesca organizzazione umana che coinvolge i mass media, l'industria dell'informazione, quella della moda e il mercato dell'arte. Tutte realtà comunicanti.

Molte volte mi sono chiesta che cos'è ad attrarmi così tanto delle immagini fisse, tanto da scattarle, comprarle, studiarle, parlarne e scriverne.

La mia risposta è stata che le fotografie di un autore fissano un attimo di storia dell'umanità irripetibile e puramente autentico ma allo stesso tempo sono un'espressione soggettiva del fotografo, che attraverso di esse racconta un pezzetto di realtà dal suo punto di vista.
